The Goldwyn Award
Named and established in honor of Dr. Robert M. Goldwyn in a presentation to him at the 2009 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting, the Robert M. Goldwyn, M.D. Lifetime Achievement Award honors Dr. Goldwyn’s humor, kindness, wit, wisdom, and overall excellence in plastic surgery. Dr. Goldwyn’s career has served as an inspiration to plastic surgeons worldwide.
Of note, the 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting that took place in Dr. Goldwyn’s home city of Boston, and where this prestigious award was established, would turn out to be the last plastic surgery annual meeting that Dr. Goldwyn attended before leaving us on March 23, 2010.
The award recognizes extraordinary contributions to patients, students, and plastic surgeons, is to be given to a plastic surgeon deemed by the Executive Council of the New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Inc., to be an individual who has demonstrated Outstanding Care of plastic surgery patients, has made Significant Contributions to plastic surgery, and has demonstrated the Humanistic Qualities exemplified by Dr. Goldwyn.
This award is not necessarily awarded annually.
